Tajikistan plans to set up analogue of Sirius Centre

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin said Russia is considering setting up an analogue of the Sirius Education Centre in Tajikistan, TASS reports.

Khusnullin said these plans have been discussed with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda. He intends to discuss them during a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

According to Khusnullin, the analogue of Sirius will be a combined version, which involves the expansion of the school and elements of Sirius. It is planned that the Centre will be set up at Yu. Gagarin School in Dushanbe.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Russian authorities see Tajikistan’s is interest in setting up the Centre.

The Sirius Education Centre was set up in Sochi after the Olympic Games. The Centre was built on the Olympic infrastructure at the initiative of Vladimir Putin. Its main task is to reveal and develop talented children in various fields, including in the natural sciences and creativity.
