Foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus discuss prospects for enhancing cooperation

On June 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived in Belarus for an official visit. He held meetings with the high-ranking officials of this country, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan was received by President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Exchanging views on the current state and prospects of strategic cooperation, the interlocutors noted fruitful Kazakhstan-Belarus partnerships, including within international organisations.

On that day, Minister Nurtleu met with his counterpart Sergei Aleinik. The talks focused on building up trade and economic cooperation and implementing joint projects in the machine building, construction and agricultural sectors. Murat Nurtleu emphasised that Belarus is one of the most important economic partners of Kazakhstan. The two states are bound by strong historical and cultural ties and shared political interests.

The foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus exchanged views on issues of regional and international politics and discussed ways to boost cooperation in science, education, medicine, culture and sports.
