Sadyr Japarov expresses indignation about delayed financing of Kyrgyzfarmasiya State Enterprise

President Sadyr Japarov led a meeting on the development of Kyrgyzstan’s health sector in Bishkek. In particular, the President criticized the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health for delayed financing of the Kyrgyzfarmasiya State Enterprise, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

He noted that the State Enterprise has received 30 million soms (about $342,500) in state loan, which allowed the economic entity to conclude contracts with 7 foreign drug manufacturers. Japarov emphasised that these contracts would cover only 10% of the local demand for medicines, though the task is to reach 100%.

He said the state has the money, but for unknown reasons, Kyrgyzfarmasiya has not yet received 1 billion soms (about $11.42 million) from the budget to conclude contracts with many manufacturers. The President gave the ministries a week to resolve the issue. He said harsh measures would be taken if his orders were not fulfilled.

The President emphasised that the direct deliveries of medicines from manufacturers in Kyrgyzstan would allow reducing prices for medicines and eliminating market pharmaceutical mafias.
