As part of the international scientific conference «Energy perspectives, new technologies and environmental aspects in the development of hydrocarbon deposits» in Ashgabat it was stated that Turkmenistan exports about 40 billion cubic meters of gas to China annually. It was reported by the electronic newspaper «Golden Age».
The deputy head of the «Turkmengas» state concern Myrat Archayev noted that the fuel is transported through three lines of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China. It was commissioned in 2009. According to the speaker, the corresponding supplies will be increased up to 65 billion cubic meters in the future.
The representative of the company drew attention to the fact that China is the largest importer of Turkmen gas.
The total throughput capacity of the gas pipeline is 55 billion cubic meters per year. In February 2022, Turkmenistan and China agreed to construct the fourth line of the pipeline. The corresponding route will run from Turkmenistan through the territory of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
