Turkmenistan and Angola to expand cooperation within United Nations

In New York, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Ataeva met with the Ambassador of Angola to the United Nations Cruz Francisco José Da. They considered issues of strengthening cooperation through the development of joint initiatives within the UN. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.

The parties agreed to make efforts to establish an exchange of experience in such areas as preventive diplomacy, ensuring global security, countering terrorism, combating climate change and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Attention was paid to the readiness to establish direct channels of communication between the cabinets of ministers of the countries within the framework of the development of international initiatives.

Permanent representatives of Turkmenistan and Angola to the UN noted the importance of mutual support of initiatives. They also underlined the expediency of parity accreditation of ambassadors.

Angola is a member of the Group of Friends on Sustainable Transport, which was established within the United Nations under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan.
