Kyrgyzstan invites Iran to set up joint farms

On June 11, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Iran Turdakun Sydykov met with Acting Minister of Agriculture of Iran Mohammad Aghamiri to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Kyrgyz diplomat invited to consider setting up joint farms and building processing and storing hubs for agricultural products and meat. He also noted the capacities of Kyrgyzstan to produce and export honey and beans to Iran.

The IRI Minister of Agriculture expressed readiness to intensify mutually beneficial partnerships with the Kyrgyz side in the agricultural sector, noting the existing transit and transport potential of the two countries to import and export agricultural products.

Particular attention was paid to the 13th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation, which is scheduled to take place in Bishkek this year.

Following the talks, the interlocutors agreed to hold an online expert meeting to set the dates of the IGC meeting and prepare bilateral agreements, which are currently under consideration, for signing.
