Russia ready to increase exports to Tajikistan

RF Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said Russia is ready to increase supplies of agricultural, wood, metallurgical and chemical products and vehicles to Tajikistan, RIA Novosti reports.

Khusnullin informed about the meeting with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, which took place at the International Economic Forum «Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum». The meeting focused on bolstering bilateral trade, investment cooperation and major joint projects in the industrial sector.

Khusnullin noted that Russia-Tajikistan trade and economic ties continue to show steady dynamics, and in 2022, the trade turnover increased to $1.4 billion, which is 18 percent higher than in 2021. Russia’s exports rose almost 20 percent to $1.3 billion, while Russia’s imports rose 4 percent to $103.3 million.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the positive dynamics continues this year, and bilateral trade demonstrated a positive trend in the first quarter of 2023. He highlighted the significant potential to boost trade between the two countries and Russia’s readiness to increase exports from various industries to Tajikistan.
