On May 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated him on the success of the presidential and parliamentary elections, in which the incumbent President of Turkey and the People’s Alliance had won a majority, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
Mirziyoyev noted that the results of the vote testify to the broad support of the Turkish people for ongoing political and economic reforms of current Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The interlocutors discussed issues and prospects for boosting Uzbekistan-Turkey cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and strengthening friendly relations between the two peoples.
They highlighted the importance of developing the agenda of the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
