More than 1 million Uzbek citizens move out of poverty in 2022

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Government of the Republic to discuss measures aimed at reducing poverty and boosting job creation in the country. The meeting focused on the support of domestic entrepreneurs. The authorities of the Republic have invested trillions of soums to boost entrepreneurship and agriculture, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

In 2022, more than 1 million people in Uzbekistan moved out of poverty. The authorities allocated 15 trillion soums to help citizens build family businesses. 200,000 hectares of land were provided to support private agricultural producers. More than 20,000 enterprises received state support and expanded their activities.

The President emphasised the need to create new jobs to cut poverty. The participants discussed the ways of encouraging entrepreneurs to create new jobs and promoting entrepreneurship. It was proposed to conclude agreements with business owners that would train highly skilled workers. The authorities are planning to set up monocentres that would give enterprise employees access to training, loans and information infrastructure.
