After the fake Facebook* page of the Mayor of Dushanbe was created, the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan launched an investigation to find out who the owner of a Facebook page is, Sputnik reports.
The law enforcement agency posted an announcement on Facebook, emphasising that the fake page has nothing to do with the Mayor of Dushanbe, Chairman of the National Council and President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan. All the posts on the fake page are made by an unknown person.
The Mayor of Dushanbe has no official social network accounts. The criminal investigators requested that visitors refrain from reposting and commenting on the fake page to avoid unpleasant incidents. The fake account owner will be prosecuted.
As was reported, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali congratulated the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who gathered in the Victory Park. Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Chairman of the House of Representatives Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda attended the event.
*Meta (social networks Facebook and Instagram) is designated in Russia as an extremist organisation.
