Astana and Dushanbe to cooperate in all areas

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held talks with Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon in Astana. The interlocutors considered boosting mutually beneficial partnerships in the trade, industry, agriculture, investment, transport, logistics, water and energy sectors, the press office of the Government reported to CentralAsia.news.

«We see significant potential to further expand bilateral trade. With the aim of bringing commodity turnover up to $2 billion, we are working together with the Government of Tajikistan to expand trade and economic relations,» the Prime Minister informed his interlocutor.

Smailov stressed that the Government of the Republic will make every effort to boost trade and economic cooperation with Tajikistan. He expressed belief that bilateral cooperation will develop dynamically in all areas in 2023.

The President of Tajikistan noted the high potential to build up bilateral multifaceted cooperation. In this context, he emphasised the importance of boosting contacts between the business communities of the two countries, increasing bilateral trade and intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchange and expressed readiness to cooperate with Kazakhstan in all areas without restrictions.
