Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov during his official visit to Baku. The interlocutors focused on the prospects for boosting cooperation in bilateral investment, the press office of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported to CentralAsia.news.
The ministers agreed to set up cotton-textile clusters with the complete production cycle in the Republic of Azerbaijan, using the experience of Uzbekistan. They discussed the progress of the implementation of joint projects in the sericulture and mechanical engineering sectors.
The politicians exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, small and medium-sized business, transport, transit and other areas. In this context, they agreed to increase bilateral trade to $1 billion.
The interlocutors expressed their readiness to promote mutually beneficial partnerships and developed a format of cooperation to bolster trade ties between the two states.
