On April 20, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed the law on the ratification of an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the manufacture of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The law was adopted by Jogorku Kenesh on March 15. The ratification of the agreement will allow implementing the investment project.
«The implementation of the project in the Kyrgyz Republic will give impetus to develop Kyrgyzstan’s automotive industry, increase the share of industry in GDP, modernise the car fleet and create more than 2,000 new jobs,» the President’s Office reported.
As was reported, the document was signed during the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev and Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov signed the agreement.
The document envisages the manufacture of vehicles on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
