Office of Ombudsman of Turkmenistan and OSCE Centre to expand ties in human rights

The authorized representative for human rights in Turkmenistan Yazdursun Gurbannazarova met with Charles Nouman Philpot, the head of the human dimension department of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. They discussed issues of strengthening interaction between the ombudsman’s office and the relevant organization. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the ombudsman’s office.

Yazdursun Gurbannazarova pointed out the importance of fruitful work in this direction. She also noted that cooperation between the ombudsman’s office and the centre of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is implemented on the basis of regular contacts between the respective representatives.

Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the OSCE in three dimensions — the politico-military, the economic and environmental, and the human. The mission of observers of the international organization took part in the monitoring of the parliamentary elections in the Central Asian country in March this year.

The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat was established in 1999.
