The Organising Committee responsible for preparing for the event has held a meeting in April, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

More than 2,000 foreign guests will take part in the event. The participants will include representatives of foreign governments, major companies, banks, international financial institutions and the media and experts in economics, investment, finance and technology.

The Annual Meeting will focus on the current trends in the global economy and the activities of the EBRD. A business forum will bring together representatives of international business circles on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting.

The choice of Uzbekistan as a venue for the event testifies to the importance and strategic partnerships between Uzbekistan and the EBRD. It also illustrates the recognition of Tashkent’s efforts to implement large-scale social and economic reforms. Chairman of the Organising Committee and Head of the President’s Office of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov expressed belief that the event would contribute to economic cooperation of Uzbekistan with the European Union and other countries.
