Uzbekistan to spend $35 million to support poultry sector

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to allocate $35 million to support poultry farms throughout the country. These funds will be used to purchase poultry feed and replenish working capital, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

One of the problems facing local food enterprises is a lack of working capital, and farmers suffer from a lack of land and animal feed. To solve this problem, about 1,400 livestock projects were implemented in Uzbekistan in 2022, which allowed increasing the number of sheep and goats to 24 million heads and cattle to 14 million heads. 290 fish farming projects were implemented. In total, over 500,000 tonnes of fish were caught in the country.

In the future, it is planned to implement projects in Uzbekistan’s animal husbandry sector. In particular, new milk collection points that will cooperate with more than 100 households will be created. 64 livestock breeding complexes will be built.
