Kazakhstan opens trading companies abroad to reduce food prices

QazTrade JSC announced the establishment of foreign companies to reduce inflationary pressure on the market and minimize the risk of a shortage of seasonal vegetables and fruits, CentralAsia.news reports with reference to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

This week, a joint Kazakh-Uzbek company, UZKAZTRADE LLC has been registered and opened. It will be managed by QazTrade and UzTrade (Uzbekistan) on a 50/50 basis.

The joint export-import company will aim to supply fruits and vegetables to consumers in Kazakhstan at wholesale prices. The absence of a long intermediary chain will allow reducing the cost of products.

General Director of QazTrade JSC Nuraly Bukeikhanov added that the company does not plan to make a profit and will not add a profit margin to imported products. It will add a small margin to cover its minimal administrative costs.
