Relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are at testing stage, Volodin says

On April 13, Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev had a meeting at the State Duma. The interlocutors discussed cooperation and interaction in the new conditions, the press office of the State Duma reported to CentralAsia.news.

Viacheslav Volodin noted that he views Russia and Kazakhstan as strategic partners. In the new conditions, the two countries need to look for new points of contact so that their relations continue to develop.

«Moreover, the world is facing many challenges today,» Viacheslav Volodin said. He added that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are going through a testing stage now.

Kazakhstan believes that cooperation with Russia is effective. Maulen Ashimbaev noted that challenges also bring new opportunities. The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan said contemporary hurdles are impeding the development of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

«We need to do everything possible to overcome them,» Ashimbaev said.
