On April 11, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voytov met with Director for Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture at the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank Yasmin Siddiqi, the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan reported.
The interlocutors exchanged views on consistent measures taken to modernise Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, reorganize the activities of all actors in the agricultural supply chain and promote cooperation with international financial organisations.
The Minister of Agriculture noted that the Republic is implementing a unified state policy in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, fisheries, crop production and sericulture.
It was noted that the Asian Development Bank is taking an active part in implementing priority projects in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, for which it has allocated $347 million in total. The development of implementation documents of two more projects worth $130 million is underway.
