World Bank to help Tajikistan set up export logistics centres

Head of the Export Agency of Tajikistan Bahriddin Sirojiddinzoda and World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan Ozan Sevimli held talks in Dushanbe. The representative of the World Bank flagged the readiness of this financial organisation to cooperate with the Export Agency in setting up export logistics centres, the press office the Export Agency of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors considered simplifying export documentation procedures. They focused on the possibility of reducing the costs of exporting Tajik goods. It was noted that the World Bank will intensify partnerships with the Republic under the project «Support to the financial and private sector of Tajikistan».

The interlocutors discussed the creation of a unified electronic database for exporters and the enhancement of the knowledge and understanding of processing, storage and sale of domestic products among suppliers.

In mid-January this year, the World Bank approved $50 million in grant financing for Tajikistan. Financial support aims to enhance sustainable and resilient economic growth of Tajikistan.
