Uzbekistan to expand trade and economic cooperation with European Union

A meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament took place at the Ministry of Investments of Uzbekistan. The participants considered expanding trade and economic partnerships between Uzbekistan and the European Union and discussed measures to extend the GSP Plus status for Uzbekistan for a new, 2024-2034 cycle the press office of the Ministry reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the progress of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization. In this context, the members of the European Parliament noted that the leadership of the European Union is firmly committed to continuing close cooperation and providing advice and technical assistance in this process.

The interlocutors focused on conducting bilateral events and exchanging experiences. They agreed to conduct a regular meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU Subcommittee on Trade and Investment in Brussels in June this year, as well as to continue expert consultations aiming to increase the effectiveness of economic management.
