Kazakhstan offers Azerbaijan locomotives and freight cars

On April 7, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin held talks with Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov during his working trip to Azerbaijan. The Deputy Prime Minister presented the potential of Kazakhstan’s heavy engineering sector to his interlocutor and put forward a proposal to supply Kazakhstan-made locomotives and freight cars to Baku, the press office of the Government of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Kazakh side noted that the Azerbaijani market is of great interest for the exports of Kazakhstan-made goods. In this regard, the Prime Minister said the recent trade and economic mission of Kazakhstani producers has resulted in signing agreements totally worth $55 million for the export of metallurgical goods, food commodities and confectionery products.

«Our states have a significant potential for building up energy and transport cooperation and trading in agricultural goods. We aim to establish mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation in the widest possible range of issues and are always open to new proposals,» Zhumangarin emphasised.

The interlocutors discussed joint projects in the energy, transport and logistics, cultural, tourism and other important sectors.
