On April 6, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov participated in the forum on education reform in the country. Addressing the forum, the Prime Minister outlined the five main areas of education reform in Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.
1. Adapting curricula to modern labour market requirements
2. Improving the quality of teaching
3. Developing infrastructure and providing access to education
4. Applying a flexible approach to education
5. Boosting creative and critical thinking.
«Our teachers are the key to the success of the education system. We must provide them with opportunities for professional growth and advanced training. The introduction of modern teaching methods will help teachers become mentors for their students,» Zhaparov said.
He highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their location and socioeconomic status. The Prime Minister said the state would build schools, kindergartens and new university campuses in the coming years.
