Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews New Tashkent City construction plans

On April 4, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of the implementation of the construction projects of New Tashkent City and new facilities in the capital city of the Republic, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The President reviewed the first stage construction plans of the New Tashkent City project. These plans envisage the construction of apartment houses for 60,000 residents, government buildings, parks, social facilities, healthcare facilities and educational and cultural institutions in the city.

The construction plans envisage the use of smart technologies to build an infrastructure and the adoption of the best international practices on urban development. These projects include a trigeneration plant that will generate electricity and heat up the premises in winter and cool them in summer.

Much attention is to be paid to environmental well-being of the future city. There will be a large number of pedestrian and bicycle paths in the new city, and green areas will be created around the city. The road infrastructure project provides for the construction of underground car parks and 14 tunnels in New Tashkent City and 7 bridges across the Chirchik and Karasu Rivers.
