Uzbekistan and PRC sign bilateral cooperation agreements

On March 29, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements in the trade, economic and energy sectors between Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China, organised by the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry of Uzbekistan, took place in the capital of Uzbekistan, the press office of the Ministry reported.

At the ceremony, the Uzbek side was represented by the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, the Minister of Energy and the heads of administrations of Tashkent and Jizzakh Regions. The Chinese delegation represented a number of regions of the PRC and more than 40 major companies.

The parties signed the agreements of cooperation in renewable energy and trade and partnerships between Tashkent Region and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Huadian Xinjiang Power Han Song signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of solar power plants in Navoi and Fergana Regions.

A series of presentations on the investment potential of the two countries took place.
