On March 24, Kazakh leader Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a meeting with Honorary President of the Astana Chess Federation Dinara Saduakasova. The President discussed with the Woman Grandmaster the development of chess in Kazakhstan, the work being done to widely popularise this sport in the country and future plans, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
Saduakasova said the Federation conducts master classes and qualifying tournaments for children and other important events on a regular basis to promote chess in the country.
Congratulating the President of the Chess Federation on a silver medal of the World Rapid Chess Championships, which was held in Almaty last year, the Kazakh leader emphasised that the Government would provide comprehensive support and assistance to chess players of the Republic to popularize this sport and gain victories in world championships. He wished the grandmaster every success in the upcoming competitions.
