On March 1, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev during his state visit to Baku. The interlocutors discussed in detail the progress of the implementation of high-level agreements and the schedule of upcoming events, the press office of Mirziyoyev reported to CentralAsia.news.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan cooperation has reached a new level and been filled with concrete content through coordinated efforts.
They emphasised that last year bilateral trade increased by more than 50%, the projects continue to be implemented in the automotive, light and silk industries and a number of promising projects in the oil and gas and transport and logistics industries are under development.
The leaders noted the importance of signing the Agreement on the Joint Investment Fund at the First Forum of Regions, which was held in Tashkent in February this year.
The two leaders expressed willingness to exchange experience in the creation of free economic zones and tax administration systems.
