On February 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated the Turkish leader on his birthday, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
President Mirziyoyev wished good health and well-being to Recep Tayyip Erdogan and peace and prosperity to the people of Turkey. Noting the high level of Uzbekistan-Turkey multi-vector cooperation, the Uzbek leader emphasised that the contribution of the President of Turkey plays a major role in promoting it.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed readiness to continue providing necessary assistance to Turkey in responding to the devastating earthquake in southeastern Turkey.
President Erdogan thanked his Uzbek counterpart for his congratulations and support at the most difficult moment. The Uzbek rescuers took an active part in cleaning the rubble of the collapsed buildings, and the Uzbek doctors provided medical aid to earthquake victims in Hatay Province.
The two leaders discussed some aspects of bilateral cooperation in implementing the agreements reached at the high-level talks in Samarkand in November last year.
