On February 24, President of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Higher Military Pilot Training School in Karshi, where he inspected the conditions of training, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
From 1994 (the year of foundation) until 2019, the pilot training school was located in Jizak, however, there was not enough space in the old school building to conduct full training. In 2018, it was decided at the initiative of President Mirziyoyev to use the Hanabad airfield in Karshi district for flight training of cadets during the summer, and the pilot training school moved to Karshi in 2019.
The new classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art training equipment and IT technologies. The proximity of the airfield made it possible for cadets to undergo flight training on a regular basis. The building complex includes the pre-flight training centre, the information and resource centre, training laboratories, a 400-seat hostel, a culture centre, a field training site and a sports complex.
During the visit to the pilot training school, the Uzbek leader inspected the conditions of training and life of cadets, visited training rooms and talked to future pilots. The President visited the dining room of the training school and had lunch together with cadets.
The demonstration flights of fighters, attack aircrafts, transport aircrafts and military helicopters were performed for the President.
