On February 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in Tashkent, leading an Azerbaijani delegation to participate in the first meeting of the Joint Forum of Regions and a meeting of the Business Council. The interlocutors discussed the progress of the implementation of the high-level agreements, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction over the existing level of bilateral multifaceted cooperation, in particular the progress of the implementation of cooperation projects in the automotive, textile and silk industries. They noted that the Agreement on a joint investment fund will be signed, and the promising projects in the oil and gas, transport and logistics sectors are being developed.
In conclusion, the interlocutors emphasised the importance of enlarging the portfolio of partnerships between the two states, including under the ongoing localization programme.
