Uzbekistan-Finland Intergovernmental Commission meets in Tashkent

On February 22, the Uzbekistan-Finland Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation held the 5th meeting chaired by Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland Ville Skinnari. The participants coordinated the approaches to building up investment, industrial, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported to CentralAsia.news.

The participants emphasised the existing significant potential for deepening bilateral cooperation in priority areas, the importance of attracting advanced expertise and technological developments of Finnish companies and the commitment of the countries to taking further efforts to consistently develop relations in the areas of mutual interest.

They parties agreed to expand institutional partnerships, including through the financing instruments of the Public Sector Investment Facility, the Export Credit Agency (Finnvera) and the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation (Finnfund).

In conclusion, the parties expressed mutual commitment to strengthening partnerships in the areas discussed. They emphasised that the synergy of innovations, know-how and science advances of Finland with the infrastructure and human resources potential of Uzbekistan will contribute to the stability of multifaceted interaction between the two countries.
