On February 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to discuss the implementation of the national youth policy and the promotion of productive leisure activities for young citizens of the country, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The participants reviewed the measures taken in the country to provide work for young citizens and create opportunities for young people to acquire a profession needed for today’s job market and spend their leisure time productively. The President of Uzbekistan highlighted the need to take further measures in this sphere and put forward the initiative to launch the School of Life Programme that would aim to offer vocational training and provide work for school-leavers.
Noting that the funding system of state youth programmes and projects should be digitalized and ensure that targeted funding would be effectively used, the President highlighted the need to continue supporting youth business initiatives.
With the aim of involving young people in culture, literature and sports, it is planned to hold festivals, intellectual and sports competitions and the Caravan of Culture events throughout the country.
