On February 14, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the Astana-Nan Chemicals plant to review the progress in production of pesticides and agrochemical products during his working trip to Stepnogorsk. The production lines and equipment used to produce crop protection chemicals, pesticides, potassium salt and glyphosate-based herbicides were presented, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
The plant meets international standards; it was built in compliance with the environmental, industrial and sanitary safety standards and requirements. In 2022, the plant produced 7,000 tonnes of crop protection chemicals worth 41 billion tenge.
Astana-Nan Chemicals has an accredited international production and research laboratory.
Akmola Region Akim Ermek Marzhikpayev reported on the social and economic development of the region and the progress of the implementation of the investment projects. He informed the President about the current situation in the chemical, processing, metallurgical, light and food industries.
The President visited an exhibition of the goods produced in the region and discussed with the managers of the large companies the aspects and opportunities for further economic development of the region.
