The officials of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan held a press conference in Dushanbe. They reported that the Ministry has taken specific measures to expand the geography of labour migration, emphasising that the Republic has signed agreements with the UK and Korea, the Khovar State News Agency reports.
Last year, 383 and 58 citizens of Tajikistan were officially employed in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Korea respectively, the officials reported. Pre-departure consultations and orientation trainings were provided to these citizens.
The Agency for Employment Abroad state institution provided work for 2,013 citizens of Tajikistan at the request of foreign representatives in the Russian Federation. 223 citizens travelled for work to Kazakhstan, 29 citizens to the Republic of Turkey, 35 citizens to Poland, 11 citizens to Romania and 6 citizens to the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan has signed 30 agreements with 12 states. These documents are aimed at promoting international cooperation in this sphere.
