Uzbekistan has doubled pace of homebuilding in 5 years

The quantitative housing indicators in Uzbekistan have increased significantly over the past five years. It has increased to 16%, the press office of the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IPMI) reported to CentralAsia.News.

According to experts, Uzbekistan has almost doubled the pace of homebuilding over the past five years. In Uzbekistan, floor area per person has increased from 15.7 to 18.2 square metres. In 2022, builders have put into operation 24,300 flats. Of these, 3,500 flats are located in the New Uzbekistan residential area.

Last year, the commercial banks financed the purchase and construction of homes for 37,600 families. In 2021, this number was twice less. Mortgage allocations amounted to 8.2 trillion soums; low-income families received 767.4 billion soums in subsidies.

These indicators were achieved through specific measures taken by the authorities to develop the mortgage market in 2022.
