World Bank and JICA have assisted Dushanbe to develop housing and communal services

First Deputy Head of the Administration of Dushanbe Jamshed Tabarzoda met with the representatives of the World Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the Mayor’s Office in the capital city of the Republic of Tajikistan. The contribution made by the partners to develop housing and communal services in Dushanbe was highly evaluated, the press office of the Mayor’s Office reported to CentralAsia.news.

Regional Director for Sustainable Development at the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia region Sameh Wahba and JICA First Deputy Director Uno Junko attended the meeting.

Tabarzoda noted the importance of financing by the World Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency the projects aimed providing access to water and sanitation, promoting the level of housing and communal services and improving household solid waste management.

The Deputy Mayor expressed belief that the World Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency would continue to fruitfully direct financial resources to support projects in priority areas in Dushanbe.

The parties discussed other aspects of interaction of mutual interest.
