IsDB has invested over $620 million in projects in Tajikistan

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Vice President for Country Programmes at the Islamic Development Bank Mansur Mukhtar. The interlocutors discussed various vectors of interaction and the promising areas of cooperation, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

They noted that the IsDB has earmarked over $620 million to fund different projects in Tajikistan during the years of independence.

Rahmon and Mukhtar reviewed the progress of the implementation of projects in the education, healthcare, energy, transport and irrigation sectors. The Tajik leader expressed satisfaction with the current level of interaction between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank. The interlocutors discussed other aspects of partnerships, including road construction and reconstruction projects and Tajik agricultural exports, during the meeting.

At the end of 2022, Tajikistan’s debt to the IsDB stood at about $184 million.
