Belarusian Pechora-2 BM air defence missile system enters into service in Kyrgyzstan

On February 1, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov got acquainted with the technical characteristics of the new equipment and visited an exhibition of telecommunications equipment, small arms, anti-tank and helicopter ammunition, engineering equipment, sniper rifles, pistols, grenade launchers, rockets and other military equipment, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The Pechora-2 BM air defence missile system (ADMS) entered into service in Kyrgyzstan. It was reported earlier that the system will be deployed in Batken Region.

The first batch of Pechora-2 BM was purchased under the last year’s contract with BelTechExport CJSC for the upgrading of the S-125 air defence missile system to the Pechora-2 BM system.

The fighting capabilities of the Mi-8 combat helicopters, which underwent a major overhaul, were demonstrated to the President.

The President noted that along with information warfare and propaganda, other methods of armed struggle prevail. In this regard, the current situation requires enhancing the state policy to ensure national security, Japarov said.

Earlier, Japarov visited the exhibition of the new eco-buses, ambulances and modern vehicles for the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
