President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as part of a working trip to Mary province, visited Galkynysh, one of the world’s largest gas fields, which is located near Yoloten. The leader of the country was informed about the development of wells, as reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».The head of the state company «Turkmengaz» Batyr Amanov presented diagrams and drawings, informed Berdimuhamedov about the production capacity of the facilities, reported on the progress of well construction and the development of new deposits.
The president noted the need to strengthen the resource base of the gas sector, and also pointed out the importance of discovering and developing new fields. He gave an order to fully provide the population of Turkmenistan with gas, as well as to increase the relevant export.
All technological processes related to the extraction, processing and transportation of natural gas at the Galkynysh gas field are implemented in an automated mode using environmentally friendly methods.
