Tashkent international book fair has opened

On November 2, the III Tashkent International Book Fair “Tashkent Book Fest-2022” started its work in the capital of Uzbekistan. Representatives of international publishing and printing companies, publisher’s associations, popularisers of reading books and libraries are taking part in the book fair, the press office of the Tashkent City Administration reports.

In his opening remarks, Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Asadjon Khodzhaev said the aim of the fair is to promote reading, popularize the literary heritage of different nations and cultures, study international printing practices and establish cooperation between book publishers and readers.

The book fair features the printing products from Uzbekistan, Russia and other countries. Its programme includes various events – presentations, seminars, master classes, competitions and a roundtable meeting on the ways of international interaction in publishing, printing and bookselling industries.

The 2021 awards ceremony of the winners of the XIX International Contest “The Art of the Book” and the bookselling companies from the CIS Member States and the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Book Union took place at the book fair.

The book fair will close on November 4.
