On October 21, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the solemn events during his official visit to Turkmenistan, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
Following the high-level talks with the leader of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Uzbek leader took part in the opening ceremony of the Tashkent Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan Friendship Park together with the President of Turkmenistan. The park is located in the historical part of the Turkmen capital. It features the miniature copies of the most famous buildings of Tashkent, flower beds and green lawns on an area of about 3 hectares.
The remote ground-breaking ceremony of the Khorezm-Dashoguz Border Trade Zone took place via videoconference in the Tashkent Park, involving the elders in Khorezm and Dashoguz Regions.
President Mirziyoyev visited Magtymguly Turkmen State University in Ashgabat, where the ceremony of conferring the title of Honorary Professor of the University on the President of Uzbekistan took place.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the People’s Memory memorial complex near Ashgabat and laid flowers at the monument to the victims of World War II, the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake and the 1881 Geoktepe Battle.
The President of Uzbekistan returned to Tashkent on the same day.
