On October 16, the leader of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a government meeting on the important aspects of life of the state. The members of the Cabinet of Ministers congratulated the President on the Anniversary Medal “30th Anniversary of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia”, which was awarded at the 6th CICA Summit in Astana, the Turkmenistan: Golden Age edition reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Rashid Meredov informed the President about the preparations for an official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan, scheduled for October 20-21. He noted that the programme of the summit that envisages signing a package of bilateral documents was developed together with the Uzbek side.
Berdimuhamedov emphasised that good neighbourly relations and regular interstate contacts between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan contribute to boosting mutually beneficial cooperation and effectively implementing its huge diverse potential. The Turkmen leader noted that the two countries are developing constructive interaction on the platforms of international and regional organisations. In this regard, he instructed to ensure a high organisational level of the upcoming official visit.
