On September 22, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held a working meeting with the heads and members of the Government, heads of law enforcement agencies and the Secretary of the Security Council on the current situation in Batken Region that was badly affected by the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The participants reported on measures taken to strengthen border security and reconstruct the infrastructure of the region.
The President gave specific instructions to fully reconstruct Batken Region.
In particular, the President instructed to provide all necessary assistance to the evacuated residents of the region, reconstruct residential buildings and build new ones in the place of houses which were completely destroyed before the cold weather sets in.
As was reported, 497.6 million soms were allocated from the Republican budget for Batken Region.
These funds will be used to overcome the consequences of the armed conflict, including repair and reconstruction work.
