Kazakhstan to create enabling environment to attract German companies

On September 6, President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held talks with the German economic delegation headed by Dominik Schnichels. The parties considered establishing and effectively expanding bilateral mutually beneficial relations in the trade, economic and investment sectors. In this context, the Kazakh side expressed readiness to create the necessary conditions to attract German companies to the Republic, the press office of President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Noting that Kazakhstan is interested in promoting bilateral cooperation in such priority areas as energy, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, education, science and technical training, Tokayev said the Government of Kazakhstan has developed a pool of 800 potential investment projects.

The President also expressed interest in Germany’s expertise in technical training. In particular, the Republic is exploring opportunities to open representative offices of German technical institutes, laboratories, research centres and centres of excellence to improve the professional skills of Kazakh specialists.

The head of the German working group highly evaluated partnerships between government agencies and business communities of the two countries. He stressed the effectiveness of the Special Government Working Group with German Companies. He said German companies intend to contribute to the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor and deposits and cooperate in the energy industry.
