Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov and Ambassador of Japan in Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda took part in a Kyrgyzstan-Japan Friendship meeting that marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Madmarov noted that Kyrgyzstan and Japan have fostered political dialogue over three decades, established strong inter-parliamentary relations and intensified cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and economic sectors.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for providing assistance to the implementation of national development projects of great socio-economic importance for Kyrgyzstan.

The Japanese side emphasised that Japan would continue to help Bishkek implement socio-economic development projects.

On September 3, Azizbek Madmarov and Shigeki Maeda took part in a ceremony of planting sakura seedlings in the Victory Park in Bishkek.

Sakura is a sacred symbol of Japan. He who wants to see cherry blossoms that last only a few days needs to care for the trees throughout the year.
