On August 13, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov handed over a new helicopter and special equipment to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. He emphasised that climate change that causes sudden-onset natural hazards necessitates enhancing the technical potential of the Ministry, the press office of the President reported.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan received an Airbus H-125 helicopter, new buses, excavators, loaders, SUVs and 150 mobile homes. They were purchased from the state budget. 384,140,000 soms (over $4.68 million) were spent on the above items.
Japarov emphasised that the authorities of Kyrgyzstan do not intend to stop there. This year, the state will purchase one more helicopter ($ 9.17 million) for the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The President said there has long been a need to reequip the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He emphasised that there is nothing more important for the Republic than human life, and therefore the authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure safety of Kyrgyz citizens.
