Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister visits Uzbekistan

On July 18, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili arrived in Uzbekistan, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Deputy Prime Minister, newly appointed Minister Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Hojaev and other officials greeted the Georgian delegation headed by the Prime Minister at the Tashkent International Airport.

The Georgian delegation headed from the airport to the Yangi Uzbekiston Park, where they laid wreaths at the Independence Monument. The Prime Minister of Georgia visited the Technopark, where the guests learned about the achievements of Uzbekistan’s high-tech sector.

Irakli Garibashvili noted the huge industrial and investment potential of Uzbekistan and expressed hope that Uzbekistan and Georgia would continue to build up bilateral cooperation in the priority areas.

The two countries are bound by long-standing and strong trade relations. Uzbekistan supplies drinks, chemical products, vehicles and transport equipment to Georgia. Georgia exports pharmaceutical and food products and equipment to Uzbekistan. 69 joint ventures operate in Uzbekistan, and 23 Uzbek-Georgian enterprises have opened in Georgia.
