New tourist centre and large-scale soda ash plant to be built in Kazakhstan

On July 18, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov ordered to expediate the implementation of the projects of a large-scale industrial enterprise and a modern tourism cluster during a meeting of the State Commission for economic modernisation, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

These projects include a plant that will produce soda ash in Aral district in Kyzylorda Region. It is planned to attract investment of about 140 billion tenge to implement the project. The plant will create more than 700 new jobs and produce about 300,000 tonnes per year, which will enable to substitute imported goods on the domestic market.

The Prime Minister ordered to consider financing soda the necessary plant infrastructure and attract investors to the project.

The members of the State Commission discussed the project of a multifunctional tourism and hotel cluster in Aktau. It will require total investment of 170 billion tenge. It will create 4,000 new jobs and conditions conducive to tourism growth in Mangystau Region.

Alikhan Smailov instructed not to delay the implementation of these projects and consider providing a budgeting loan for the above projects by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC.
