Kazakhstan sets fixed prices for gasoline and diesel fuel

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has issued the internal order imposing the retail price caps on the petroleum products, mainly the most in-demand products – gasoline and diesel fuel, the press office of the Ministry reported on July 15.

The price will differ only in two regions, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan. In these regions, the price for AI-92 and AI-93 gasoline will be 187 tenge per litre; the price for these brands remains unchanged – 182 tenge per litre in other regions of Kazakhstan. The gasoline price in these regions is slightly higher due to the remoteness of the refinery, as the distance exceeds logistics costs.

AI-95 gasoline was excluded from the list of price caps on the petroleum products. According to the Ministry, this gasoline brand is not subsided by the state as a larger amount of expensive additives and high-octane substances is used to produce it.

The Ministry reported that the price for diesel fuel will remain unchanged – 260 tenge per litre in all the regions of Kazakhstan. The price for this gasoline brand in the capital of the Republic, Almaty and Shymkent will be slightly lower – 230 tenge per litre.
