Kyrgyzstan and Russia discuss cooperation within Eurasian Economic Union

On July11, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov had a telephone conversation with his counterpart from the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. The interlocutors discussed cooperation in a number of areas, focusing on interaction within the Eurasian Economic Union, the press office of the Government of the Russian Federation reported.

The interlocutors touched upon this issue in connection with the upcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan, which would be held in Cholpon-Ata in late August.

Special attention was paid to future cooperation in the economic, trade, energy and agricultural sectors.

On the same day, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation. They “synchronized their watches” on the upcoming diplomatic events.

The officials focused on achieving regional security through the CSTO, the SCO and the UN and interstate relations within the Central Asia+Russia Dialogue.
